Our story
Two people, one Cheshire smallholding, one stubborn idea.
Broadleaf started at a kitchen table in 2023. Two of us: a former commercial gardener who’d spent a decade with cut flowers, and a graphic designer who kept getting dragged into cannabis-adjacent brand work and thinking, quietly, that most of it looked like a chemistry set trying to sell you a lifestyle.
We started with three hemp plants under a polytunnel in a corner of a farmer’s field outside Knutsford. The first oil we produced was awful. The second was fine. The third, blended six months later after we’d learned how to dry and store the material properly, was the one we sold to friends. Friends bought more. That was Broadleaf.
Now we grow in two Cheshire polytunnels, blend in a small unit in Manchester, and post everything ourselves. Every bottle is tested by an independent UK lab before it goes out. Every batch has a certificate of analysis on the product page. If a batch fails testing, we don’t sell it. That’s happened three times so far. It cost us a lot of money and we’re not sorry.
We are not a big brand. We are two people who make hemp products properly and post them to you in a plain envelope. That’s the whole pitch.
What we won’t do
- We won’t claim CBD cures anything. UK law is clear on this and so are we.
- We won’t sell you a subscription you have to email to cancel.
- We won’t upsell you at checkout. What you add to the basket is what you pay for.
- We won’t send you marketing emails after your order unless you actually asked.
- We won’t sell your data. There is nothing to sell — we don’t collect it.
